Ruffled Bonnet

Materials: Sport weight yarn F Hook Row 1: white white (or color of your choice) ch 55, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, in each st across. ch 2, turn. Row 2-7: hdc n each st across, working in back loops only. Row 8: X stitch in each across. ch 2, turn.               (Click here to learn how to do the X - Stitch) Row 9: hdc in each across, ch2 , turn. Row 10: X stitch in each across, ch 2, turn. Row 11: hdc in each across, ch2, turn. Row 12: X stitch in each across, ch 2, turn. Row 13: hdc in each across, ch 1, turn. Row 14: sc in each across, in back loops only, ch 1, turn. Row 15-16: sc across , in back loops, ch 1, turn. Row 17: sc across in back loops to end, then ch 40, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, and each one back to front of bonnet. now sc in each st of front of bannet to the end, ch 40 , sl st in each one back to the front of bonnet again , sl st into 1 st sc on bonnets last row.( ties are now made). end off. Click here to ENLARGE image add Ruffles: attach yarn between rows 6 & 7, and make ruffle. ch 3, sc in next st front loop, ch 3, sc in next st front the way across. end off. do Ruffle on rows 14, and also 16 ( at front of bonnet) stitch sides together at rows 1-7, tie off. on beginning hdc of row 1, threat a 12 inch length of yarn thru stitches, weaving in and out all along the edge, draw up tight to close the opening, tie off. this closes the back. sew on a decorative bow or ribbon rosette to the back center. ** X Stitch Pattern:** sk next st, hdc in next st, working over last st made, hdc in skipped st. this is the cross stitch . ** Ruffles** ch 3, sc in next st, ch 3, sc in next st. the chain 3 loop is what makes the ruffles. ~Lyn's Designs~ (\0/) 1988
